First public display of the “Putin is a Killer” banner
On 27 February 2021, the anniversary of Boris Nemtsov’s murder, the “Putin is a Killer” banner was displayed for the first time outside the Russian embassy in Berlin, above a plywood figure of Putin made earlier. The previous installation, from August/September 2020, still bore the inscription “From Russia with love, tea, Novichok”.

The police had already seen the banner that day, helped to set it up and photographed it. There was no complaint.
